AMBULANCE  SERVICE

 

SERVICE COMMITMENT

 In keeping with the Ambulance Act of Ontario Regulation 257/00 (Part II, Section 3 (1), Section (a), the Lanark County Ambulance Services (LCAS) hereby commits to the following critical elements.  They are:

Current level of service provided is Basic Life Support (BLS) as defined as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP).

The 90th percentile for 1996 is 15:49 minutes and for 2003 is 16:44 minutes.  LCAS is committed to continue improving this benchmark through monitoring, capture of electronic data, analyses of same and working with both labour, administration and CACC with the goal of improving the level of efficiency.

Service reaction time (T2 – T3) <2 minutes on code 4 calls for on-site staff is two (2)minutes. 

The maximum number of one (1) Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) are available Mon-Fri 8-16:00hrs.

The total number of BLS units available at peak (day) hours from Monday to Friday total 6 and on nights total 4.  On weekends at peak (day) hours total 5 and on nights total 5 as per the normal staffing pattern.
