MEDICS CARE
HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF FUND
___________________________________________________________________________
Paramedics throughout the Southern United Stated have been working tirelessly through the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The care and life saving medical treatment that these Paramedics have been providing to their communities has been carried out at the expense of being able to provide for and protect their own families. Acadian Ambulance of Louisiana reports over 50 Paramedics and their families are now homeless and at least 220 Paramedics and their families are now displaced as a result of the destruction. In the face of personal loss and uncertainty, these heroes have persevered to provide leadership, compassion and treatment and evacuation to over 8,000 desperate people, one call for help at a time. Acts of heroism are being carried out across the Hurricane Katrina disaster zone by Paramedics who are without a home or possessions of their own. Whether triaging the medical needs for each wave of evacuees that arrived, providing critical treatment for newborns being airlifted from the ruins of a hospital, or providing consoling words to a patient who has lost every relative and possession they knew, these Paramedics are responding to the call of duty with unwavering professionalism and the ability to make a significant difference in the lives of many. The Emergency Medical Services Chiefs of Canada and the Paramedic Association of Canada are requesting your financial support of the MEDICS CARE FUND. Your donations to the MEDICS
CARE FUND will go to Paramedics and their families affected in their greatest time of need.
This is your chance to respond to a Paramedics call for help.
Please give generously to the MEDICS CARE FUND.
